So… course selection is up. I’m a little ticked. It looks like I might have to take TWO courses with Wrze. They aren’t offering Philosophy of Mind, which I really wanted to take; no, I have to take Philosophy of Science with Wrze instead. And then, they don’t offer enough philosophy courses at all for me to avoid taking Philosophy of History with him as well. I’m looking into Distance Ed from Vancouver to take Philosophy of Religion instead. I really, really, really hope I can, but it’s going to take some work.
They’re also not offering any of the Anthropology courses I was interested in. Anthropology of Myth looks borderline interesting, and I need the upper level credits outside philosophy, so it looks like I might be taking that along with an English class on Shelley and Keats and Introduction to Old English (which I’m actually stoked about).
There’s also a Hebrew Scriptures class that I can’t take because it’s a second year course and I can only take upper level classes. …If only it were a third year class.
Looks like I’ll also be taking classes on Kant and Plato along with Philosophy of Psychology and 18th century philosophy. I’m not particularly interested in those, but I’m not against them either, and I have to take them.
Then I have my two Spanish courses.
I really wish I could be excited about next year, but with those options… I have one course I can take that I can get excited about, and one I might be able to take distance ed that I really want to. The other 9 are just obligatory courses. Oh goody.
This is not helping my goal to be more optimistic. -_- I should be taking a better attitude about this, but right now I just can’t manage it.
