Not only is it more concealed, as you mentioned, but many games allow you to save anywhere so you have the freedom to suspend play at any time. I am not sure about the DS, but the PSP will sleep at any moment and resume from exactly there, even months later (trust me, I have done it). In this sense, portable gaming does not feel like so much a burden. And I promise that the next time you play me at SSB you will have a much harder time.
